José Vicente Aguerrevere is a seasoned entrepreneur with a passion for retail, and an aptitude for disrupting industries with his innovative business models. He has founded a number of successful businesses in technology and retail, by pinpointing the weaknesses in traditional industry paradigms, and unlocking accessible solutions.

His most recent endeavor is Takeoff Technologies, Inc., an automated fulfillment solution that helps grocers not only embrace eGroceries, but thrive in an online market. He is the Co-Founder, Executive Chairman and former CEO of Takeoff. He is also the Co-Founder, Chairman and former CEO of Día Día Practimercados, an innovative retail platform dedicated to providing access to food, financial services, and other basic essentials across low-income sectors of Latin America.

José Vicente has worked internationally as a Management Consultant with Booz Allen & Hamilton in Latin America and the United States, as an Investment Banker with Merrill Lynch in Europe, and as a Marketing Executive with Procter & Gamble in Latin America.

He was recognized as Social Entrepreneur of the Year by the World Economic Forum’s Schwab Foundation (2013) as well as Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum (2020). He is also a proud member of the Young Presidents Organization, the Social Entrepreneurs Community at the World Economic Forum, and the Social Enterprise Initiative at Harvard Business School.

José Vicente graduated summa cum laude from Simón Bolívar University in 1997, with a concentration in Mechanical Engineering. He holds a Masters Degree in Business Administration from Harvard Business School, where he graduated with highest honors as a Baker Scholar in 2002.
