Josh Bekenstein is Co-Chairman and a Managing Director of Bain Capital LP, one of the world’s leading private multi-asset alternative investment firms based in Boston, Massachusetts. Josh helped start Bain Capital in 1984 with several colleagues from Bain & Company, the management consulting firm. Bain Capital LP has since grown to 23 offices spanning four continents with more than 1,200 team members and approximately $140 billion in assets under management.

Josh serves as a board member of several corporations, including Bob’s Discount Furniture Stores, Bombardier Recreational Products, Bright Horizons Family Solutions, Canada Goose, Dealer Tire, Dollarama, and Varsity Brands. Josh also is actively involved in many not-for-profit organizations such as Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, where he Chairs the Board, the Board of Trustees of Yale University, the Environmental Defense Fund, Southern Poverty Law Center, and New Profit, Inc.

Josh holds a Bachelor of Arts from Yale and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School. He lives in Wayland, Mass., and he and his wife, Anita, have five children, three grandchildren, two pet horses, three dogs, and 16 chickens.
